Susana Mirtala Martinez, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, entered eternal rest on January 24, 2025, at the age of 80. Her peaceful passing marks the end of a remarkable journey filled with love, strength, and grace. Born on March 6, 1944, in the beloved town of Marín, Nuevo León, Mexico, Susana was one of eight children blessed to Manuel and Biviana Martinez. She is preceded in death by her parents, and seven of her siblings: Antonio, Martina, Guadalupe, Elodia, Martha, Martín, and José. She also joins her beloved daughter, Erica and her precious first grandson, Rogelio Cavazos II (Baby Roy) in eternal life. She leaves behind her beloved sister, Hilda Martinez, and a legacy carried on by her surviving family. Susana's life was enriched by her five children and their families: Juanita G. Vielma (Andy), Diana L. Mata (Israel), Rogelio M. Cavazos (Nora), Eduardo Rodriguez (Kayla), Oscar O. Rodriguez, along with daughters-in-law Susie Blake, Veronica Lopez, and son-in-law Jason Michael Blake. She adored her 12 loving grandchildren: Juan Pablo Vielma, Antonio José Vielma, Kassandra Marie Salazar (Sergio), Michael Cavazos, Angélica María Vielma, Ana Guadalupe Vielma, Francisco Miguel Vielma, Teresa Faustina Vielma, Cody Lee Raleigh, Travis Rodriguez, Elizabeth Anne Rodriguez, Emily Grace Rodriguez, and her three great-grandchildren: Nathan Levi, Hailey Nicole, and Tyler Naveen Salazar (children of Kassandra and Sergio.) Susana’s life was a testament to unconditional love and compassion. She touched the hearts of all who knew her, and her strength and kindness will forever be etched in our memories. Though we grieve the loss of her presence, we celebrate the profound beauty of her life, the memories she created, the love she shared, and the countless lives she impacted. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate nurses at Windsor Arbor View Nursing Home, whose care and kindness meant so much. As we mourn the loss of Susana, we also celebrate the beauty of her life. Though she may no longer walk among us, her warmth and love will forever remain in our hearts. Please pray for the repose of her soul.
