Robert "Bobby" Chavez
August 10, 1947-January 6, 2023
On the early morning of January 6, 2023, Our Beloved Husband, Loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother,
Uncle, Godfather, and Friend to many was called home to be in the Arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Bobby Chavez was born to Parents of Alfred & Lupe Chavez on August 10, 1947, in Upland California.
He was the second born of four children. He grew up in South Colton, attended Woodrow Wilson Elementary, Colton Jr. High, and Graduated from Colton High School.
During his Senior year he then enlisted into the United States Navy Reserves.
On August 21, 1965 he married his Junior High School Sweetheart Linda R. Alanis. Shortly after he was deployed to
Vietnam on the USS Valley Forge and received his Honorable Discharge on October 4th, 1970.
Bobby & Linda were married 57yrs and raised Four Beautiful Daughters together. During this time he attended
S.B Valley College where he studied Theology, Management, Guitar and Welding.
He then retired in 2013 after working 46yrs at Rohr Industries (UTC) as a Maintenance Mechanic & Supervisor.
Bobby had many, many hobbies in his Lifetime. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Singing & Playing his Guitar. He enjoyed
Camping & Traveling, Barbecuing, Coaching, Bicycling, Football (49rs), Farming, Pickling (his jars of pickles, olives, Jalapeno's & carrots and lastly Jeeping.
Bobby was a very hardworking provider for his Family. He was a Humble, Wise, and Respected by all those who
knew him. He lived his life to the fullest and created so many memories with those he loved. He was a "Teacher"
Taught us all Family values that will leave footprints cemented in our lives forever. He was a "Giver" he would give the
first fruits of his harvest. He was a "Helper" he helped so many. Also, he was a "Thinker" he would build whatever came to his mind.
Bobby will truly be missed by all those who loved him. He will remain in Our Hearts Forever and will Never be Forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his Loving daughter Christy Ann Chavez, Parents Alfred & Lupe Chavez, Sister Lucy Salazar,
Sister-in-law Mary Chavez, His In-laws Alex & Josie Alanis, and Brother-in-laws Mike & Alex Alanis.
Bobby is Survived by his Loving Wife Linda R. Chavez, Daughters Roberta Rios (Henry), Rozanna Moreau,
Valerie Gomez (David), 7 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren, Brother Freddie Chavez, Sister Rosemarie "Baby"
Marquez and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023
Viewing at 9:30 am and Service to follow at 10:30 am at
Victory Outreach Church in San Bernardino California
