Richard Daniel Ogg

May 18, 1928 — December 9, 2020

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Richard Daniel Ogg, who went with the Lord to his heavenly home on December 9, 2020. This legendary man was born May 18th, 1928 in Pontiac, Michigan. His story goes, “He was born in a potato patch, his mother gave birth, placed him on a rock, and continued picking potatoes.” Although we all know better. He met and married the love of his life in 1951. His bride Patricia precedes him in death. After a short racing career in Michigan, they moved to Montclair, California, where he resided the last 60 years. They raised their five surviving children: Gerry (Merry), Dan (Lucy), Brenda (Mike) Bell, Pam (Greg) Godson, and Jami (Steve) Rabino He pursued and retired from a successful career in the electrical field and was a proud member of the IBEW for over 55 years. After retirement he continued his love for driving, working alongside his brother Mel, for Mark Christopher. Church was first, and family was everything. You could find him in a pew every Sunday morning, and watching NASCAR on TV not long after. His favorite pastimes were traveling, camping, and summer vacations in his home state to attend the annual family reunion. His legend will live on through his 5 kids, 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren as he joins the party in heaven. That includes his wife, parents, and seven siblings. His surviving sister and family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to Disabled American Veterans. You finally made the paper Dad!
