Raul Benito Reyes Jr.
March 7,1963- March 7, 2024
Raul Benito Reyes Jr. was the son of Raul Reyes Sr. who transitioned into Heaven in 1973 and Step Mother Gloria A. Reyes {Honey} who transitioned to Heaven in 1974 and his beloved brother Baby Robert Michael Reyes who returned to heaven 1963.
Raul Reyes Jr. 61, was born in Montebello CA. on March 7,1963 and transitioned into Heaven March 7 th, 2024 in Pomona, CA at 7 AM. Reyes Jr. graduated from Bell Gardens High School Class of 1981. He spent many years working for Lawry’s and was liked very much by his peers. He worked hard to provide for his family and adored his children immensely. Raul was a lover of the arts, specifically music, particularly Rock & Roll and R&B. He was an avid drummer who would join in jam sessions with fellow musicians. He also was a sports fan because of his father’s influence. Raul was really fond of the LA Dodgers & the Dallas Cowboys. Reyes attended many sporting events and concerts. As an adult Raul would often be found in the living room reminiscing about time shared alongside his dad, watching old reruns of The Twilight Zone, The Honeymooners, their favorite shows of the time. He often did this as a child, even getting to witness Mahamad Ali (sting like a bee) boxing matches, laughing alongside his dad and enjoying the better times of life.
Raul is survived by his mother Edelmira Maravilla and Step Father Augustin Maravilla.
He is also survived by his wife Lisa Reyes, and children: Raul Moises Reyes, Sarah Krouse, Omar Medina, and Gisselle Reyes. His surviving siblings include: Guillermo Delgado, Nena Delgado, Richard Reyes, Roberta Green, Roxanne Robles, Robert Maravilla, and Carlos Maravilla. Raul Reyes had one grandchild, Mordekia Krause, child of Sarah Krause.
Raul was a deeply beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His passing was sudden and unexpected. While we lost our most beloved brother, dad, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many, Raul found most joy as father and grandfather with a spiritual purpose as a musician. He was inspired and moved to play rock 'n' roll. He played drums like no other. Raul communicated best through his music where he felt free . Raul was both witty and equally funny like his father. People always loved being around him because of how he made them feel. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beloved brother. Thank you for being united with us at this challenging and difficult time. We ask you to hold us in prayer, light and in your highest vibrational thoughts.
