Mary Helen Armijo

Mary Helen Armijo, age 92, of Ontario, California passed away on November 18, 2022. Mary Helen was born in Dallas, Texas on August 17, 1930. At 14 years old she moved to California with her sisters where she met Tony S. Armijo. They married on March 8, 1947. They had four children, Tony Jr., Mary Helen, Fred and Carol. She was involved with the P.T.A. at Euclid Elementary School and the Ontario Chapter of Boy Scouts. After completing cosmetology school, she went on to own and operate Mar-ton’s Beauty Shop in Ontario. In the 1980’s, she was active in the Cursillo in Christianity with the Catholic Church along with her husband. She volunteered her time at Our Lady of Guadalupe, later becoming employed there and working well into her 80’s. Mary Helen is preceded in death by her husband Tony S. Armijo, her son Anthony S. Armijo Sr. grandson Anthony S. Armijo Jr. and sisters Lucia Armijo & Mary Tapia. She is survived by her sister Janie Garcia of Texas, son Fred Armijo of Ontario, CA. & daughters Mary Helen Armijo Richmond (Eugene Richmond) of Moreno Valley, CA, Carol Tafoya (Dennis Tafoya) of Albuquerque, NM and daughter-in-law Mickey Armjio of Banning, CA. She had many loving memories with her grandchildren and got to see them grow into adults bringing along multi generations into the world. -Grandchildren: Tina-Marie Sanchez, Michelle Sanchez, Dean Amjio, Dionisio Tafoya, Angela Tafoya-Moiseyev (Michael Moiseyev) and Steven Armijo (Desire Armijo). -Great-Grandchildren: Jordan Clark, Paige-Marie Clark, Ashley Sanchez, Brandon Clark, Manuel Armijo, Anthony Rivera and Cheyenne Armijo. -Great-Great-Granddaughters: Camilla Clark and Bella Mills. And a number of nieces, nephews and godchildren. Mary Helen lived a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, many friendships and adventures. She leaves behind a great legacy. Forever she will stay in our hearts. And never forget, when you speak her name, it’s Mary Helen. Never Mary, not Maria Elena, not Mary hyphen Helen. Services will be held at Richardson Peterson Funeral Home on December 5th at 10:00 am.
