Maria Vega

Maria “Nena” Vega, peacefully left this world to join her Mom and nephew on the morning of June 23rd 2021. Born in McAllen, Texas on July 30, 1956, Maria was the oldest sister of her 2 siblings. She was a beautiful soul who loved her entire family as well as her friends. Not one day went by when she didn’t look as beautiful as ever. From her flawless skin, nails, and hair, to her beautiful heart. She was truly one of a kind. Anyone who knew her, knew how much she enjoyed taking trips to Casino’s and having her BINGO nights. She always felt lucky and managed to make the most out of each and every day as if her life depended on it. Maria had a way of making everyone feel like family which made her presence that much more special. Although she may have been stubborn in so many way, she would take the shirt off her back if it meant helping others in need. She especially loved spending quality time with her Sister Betty Hernandez, whenever she got a chance and grew extremely close to her niece Connie Hernandez. Heaven truly gained an angel when she left us but we will cherish the beautiful mark she left on each and every person she came across. Maria is survived by her loving sisters; Betty Hernandez and Rosa Melendez, her exceptionally large group of family, friends, and her favorite niece: Connie Hernandez. She is preceded by her Mother: Juanita M. Salazar and her nephew Ramon Hernandez IV. Services will be held Tuesday June 29th from 3pm to 7pm.
