Marcos Hernandez

McAllen, TX — Marcos Hernandez, age 97, passed away on January 31. Marcos is survived by his wife of 46 years, Maria Hernandez, his sons Marcos Jr, Antonio, and Alejandro Hernandez, and over 20 nieces and nephews. Marcos was the youngest of six children and he is predeceased by his three siblings: sister, Lupe Cortez, and brothers, Andres, Joaquin. He is also predeceased by his parents, Joaquin Hernandez and Maria Rosales de Hernandez.

Marcos grew up in Edinburg, Texas, where he spent most of his life. He was a talented golfer, winning many local tournaments and enjoyed playing pool with friends at Fast Eddies in McAllen and Edinburg. He was a lifelong carpenter and worked with his tools throughout the vast majority of his life.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, February 07, at McAllen Funeral Home, followed by a Catholic Mass at 7:30 pm.
