Luis H Melendez

Ontario — Luis Hector Melendez, 43, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Kaiser Permanente in Ontario, CA following a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 15 years, Claudia (Herrera) Melendez; his son, Joshua Luis Melendez (11); his parents Roberto and Maria del Socorro Gonzalez Melendez; two sisters Sofia Gonzalez and Maricela Melendez; his brother Roberto Melendez; brother-in-laws, lots of sister-in-laws, many nieces and nephews, plenty of godchildren, and many extended family members and friends.

Mr. Melendez was born and raised in East Los Angeles he was a resident of Fontana, California for the last 10 years.
Mr. Melendez attended Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles. Mr. Melendez met his wife, Claudia Herrera in 1998 and they were married in 2004 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Mr. Melendez was employed at Certified Enameling Inc. in Los Angeles while attending high school. Mr. Melendez then joined San Bernardino County in 2007, where he was a Storekeeper for the Department of Child Support Services and in 2015 he then promoted to Eligibility Worker I and Eligibility Worker II for the Transitional Assistance Department.
Luis not only took pride in his employment as a government employee, but truly relished the friends he made during his time in his various roles.

Over the years, his outgoing and charismatic personality lead him to build many strong friendships and bonds. He had a way of making people smile and laugh and was a great impersonator. He brought joy to people’s life and his dancing was second to none.

Arrangements are being handled by Deco Familia located at 123 West G Street Ontario, CA.
Calling hours will be Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm. The holy mass will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Ontario, and following where he will be laid to rest at Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario.
