Rev. Leonor Sanchez Olin

Leonor Sanchez Olin, age 74, of Riverside, California, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024 after a 20 year journey of Huntington’s Chorea. Up until the end Leonor maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, appreciation of beauty, love of family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her long life, full of wonderful and varied experiences. Most importantly, she shared her Love of Jesus Christ by the sharing of the gospel and truth of the holy word. Born on January 19, 1950, Leonor was a devoted educator and minister who dedicated her life to serving others and her faith. 

Leonor's early education was completed at Del Norte Elementary and Imperial Jr. High, followed by her graduation from Chaffey High School in 1968. She furthered her education at Chaffey College. Professionally, Leonor was committed to helping others, working as a teacher and assistant for individuals with disabilities at Salem Christian Home in Ontario, CA.

A woman of deep faith, Leonor was licensed as a Minister at the Leap of Faith Christian Center in San Bernardino, CA, where she also taught. Her mentor and teacher was Pastor Craig Luke of the Leap of Faith Christian Center. She attended St. George Catholic Church earlier in her life. Her commitment to her faith and community was evident in everything she did.

Leonor was a vibrant individual who enjoyed diverse interests including Thai Boxing and hand gliding, experiences that showcased her adventurous spirit. She once took flight off the peaks of the San Bernadino Mountains. 

Leonor’s personality brought warmth and joy to everyone she encountered, and her passing will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved her. Leonor’s memory will remain in the hearts of her family, friends, Christian brothers and sisters, and all those were honored to have had the privilege of knowing her. 

She is survived by her son, Danny R. Villanueva 52 of Ontario, CA, and daughter Monaliza Sanchez 50 of Sagel, ID. Leonor was preceded in death by her parents, Mary N. and Emilio V. Villanueva, and her sister, Linda V. Nuno.

Services to honor Leonor's life will be held on November 6, 2024, at Richardson Peterson Funeral Home in Ontario, CA, from 12pm to 2pm, followed by a Graveside Memorial at Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario, CA. at 2:30pm
