Larry Earl Bonner

Larry Earl Bonner, 71, of Barstow, California, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Larry was born to Earl William Bonner, and Dorothy Elizabeth Bourret, May 07, 1949 in Sioux City, Iowa.  

Larry graduated from Whittier High School. He attended Rio Hondo Community College and Barstow College where he earned an Associate of Science degree.  He married Maria Del Socorro Bonner in 1971, and they lived together in Barstow for 43 years. Larry worked at Goldstone Tracking Station, Dept of the Army at Fort Irwin, US Post Office in Barstow, and then at MCLB Repair Division as an Electronics Mechanic as a Supervisor, he retired in January 2010. He was a member of the Barstow Amateur Radio Club and Barstow Masonic Lodge.  He was involved in youth activities throughout the community as a Barstow Youth Soccer Coach and Referee and Barstow High School Band Booster and was a foster parent to many children.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Crossroad Assembly of God.  

SSgt E-5 Bonner served his country as an Radio Relay Equipment Technician in the the Air Force for 8 years. He was deployed on his first tour in Vietnam to support U.S. military efforts. He was stationed in the Philippines. 

Larry is survived by wife of 49 years Maria Bonner and 2 children: daughter Sheri Lynn Shileika (son-in-law Jonathan Shileika), and son Sandi Earl Bonner. He also is survived 2 grandchildren Justin Craig (wife Stephanie) and Caitlin Elizabeth (fiance Fernando) and 3 great grandchildren Kenzly Rae, Kayden Grace, and Jorden Stephen Andrew.  And 3 brothers; Eddie, Bob, and Gary.
