Karen Louise Low

August 30, 1944 — April 21, 2021

Karen Louise (Halgren) Low 1944-2021

Born Aug 30, 1944, Hartford Conn. Spent her early childhood being raised as a true cowgirl on the 7 Dash Ranch in Arizona with her horse Trixie, then moved to Ontario where her family established Halgren’s Candies, where she hand dipped chocolates and strawberries from a young age and for decades thereafter. Chaffey grad, class of 62’, she married H.S. sweetheart Dale Low. Their first child was born overseas, while Dale was stationed in Frankfurt Germany, five more followed back here in Ontario.

Dedicated to raising her five daughters and one son, she still managed to devote time to ministering to youth programs for the LDS Church, was always the room mom and was PTA President for Vineyard and Edison Elementary, as well as at Chaffey High for 4 years, all while freelancing as an expert chocolatier. She enjoyed Disneyland, fill in puzzles and word cookies, followed history and politics, and traveling to see friends and family, including 24 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Karen embodied a quiet, thoughtful steadiness, but when moved, could break into great outbursts of laughter. Her tireless dedication to her family knew no limits, and that bond continues with her into the next life.

She is survived by her children Robin, Letrionna, Stephanie, Naomi, Nicole and Dale Nicholas, her sister Margo Karaban, brother Davey Halgren, sister in-law Sue DuBois, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
