Jose is survived by [His sons Joe Guerra, Armando Guerra, and Uriel Guerra, His sister Eugenia Rajama, brothers Jesse Guerra, and Raul Guerra and sister Patricia Nevarez, many Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews].

Jose enjoyed spending time gardening, reading, and listening to different music genres. Jose was a gifted and talented self taught guitar player, he also played the harmonica, the keyboard and the bongos and he loved to sing Bealtes songs as he played his guitar. He was a poetry writer, and an amazing sketch artist..
