Jose Gomez

June 19, 1934 — July 3, 2024

Jose Gomez loved his children, loved his nieces and nephews, loved his grandchildren, loved his extended family and loved his wife. He was a child of the 30s and lived through World War 2, the Civil Rights Movement, and lived to be ninety. Jose was a loyal employee to the Southern Pacific

Railroad for thirty-eight years. Jose was a Dodgers and Angels fan and would never miss watching Family Feud, Law and Order, the Price is Right, and so many telenovelas.

Jose loved God and his faith was unshakeable and enduring. He spoke often to God and would share his faith with others. He prayed daily and never lost hope in the reunion of family and friends in the afterlife. The Lord was his strength and counsel, and he believed with all his strength in 1 Corinthians 13:7

"Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."

Jose always had his family on his mind and would call daily to his friends and family to see how they were doing. He was a storyteller and would often share his favorite memories. He missed our mom greatly and would never lose a moment to think of her. We miss him but our faith informs us that now he resides in the kingdom that God has set aside for us. He is free from pain, free from want, and is reunited with his wife, his brothers and sisters, his friends, his parents, and his ancestors. He lives in abundance, can run freely in perpetual youth, with the light of the Lord shining eternally on him. We who love him are sad but are comforted by the truth that the Lord loves his children, provides for them, and is now and forever surrounding our dad in eternal love, eternal comfort, and eternal joy. We love you dad.
