John Robert Moore (Bob), 83, died Tuesday, August 16th, at Loma Linda Hospital in Loma Linda, California. He is survived by two sons, John Robert Moore Jr. and Richard Douglas Moore; his sister, Susan Maleski; his brother, William Motzer; his brother-in-law Lance Maleski; and his beloved Labrador retrievers, Mollie and Maggie. He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Etheleen Moore; his wife, Patricia Ann Moore (Patty); his son, Terry Alan Moore; and his brother, Harry Thomas Moore. John was born in 1938 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. In 1955, he joined the U.S. Navy. John served his country as a gunner’s mate on the destroyer U.S.S. Chevalier. John married Patty, the love of his life, on the first day of Summer of 1958 in Santa Fe Springs, California. In 1964, the Moore family moved to Montclair, California and he resided there for the rest of his life. A loving husband and father, John always provided for his family. John and Patty loved being together. In 1988, they shared their 30th anniversary in the very same Big Bear cabin where they had honeymooned. They enjoyed a Caribbean cruise on their 28th anniversary and a voyage to Alaska on their 37th . John was also very involved with his three sons and active with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Little League as the boys grew up. He worked at many jobs over his career but his favorite was as a service manager in the reprographics industry at K&V Blueprinting Service. John was known at work and at home as being a tinkerer and able to fix anything. Camping and fishing were two activities he enjoyed with his family and friends, especially when it included country music. John loved animals and besides taking care of dogs he was often seen breaking up crackers for the birds, filing up the humming bird feeder and feeding stray cats. Services for John Robert Moore will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, September 30th, at the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, California.
