Helen Garcia

Helen Garcia, age 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at her home on March 12, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Alfred T. Garcia, the love of her life. The couple tied the knot on March 9, 1963. Together, they shared many adventures and interests, building an incredible life and family. Helen is also survived by her children, Elaine White (Dennis), Alfred Garcia Jr., Madeline Garcia, and Erik Garcia (Shahandana). She is survived by her sisters, Delia Sepulveda and Gloria Avalos. Helen had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren across the United States who meant the world to her.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Medina, and her son, Conrad Garcia. The third of four children, Helen was born on November 18, 1938, to Miguel Medina and Irene Fabela in Los Angeles, California.

She began working for various school districts circa 1971 and retired from the Ontario Unified School District as a noon duty aide in the 2018-2019 school year. Anyone who knew Helen knew her family meant everything to her. A faithful servant, she brightened every room and was always willing to tease those who were willing to joke around with her. She enjoyed a clean home, decorating for Christmas, and teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren all the very best ways to do things. You could always count on Helen to work hard, serve others, and be prepared for a rainy day, as she was always prepared for anything. Helen touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all those who were honored to know her and love her. She will be laid to rest next to her son, Conrad, at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights, California.
