Obituary
Grant William Blackman was born to the proud parents of Mr. & Mrs. Grant Blackman Sr. in Eudora, Arkansas he was the eldest of five children. Grant accepted Christ at an early age and later joined the Army where he served his country well earning full achievements and honors. Grant later met and married Edith M. McClain and from this union they had two children Brenda & Lynn.
Grant was a family man and he enjoyed being around his family and friends, he enjoyed cooking and “oh boy” he could cook better than most. Grant was loved by all who knew him. Grant’s memory was so sharp, he remembered dates and places at 96 years of age better than many. Stories that he would tell would keep you laughing and wanting to hear more he was a joy to have around. His smile and laughter would just light up the room, his presence was well felt when he entered the room, very helpful and knowledgeable. A great man, and a well respected man, when you combine these two descriptions of a man, you are definitely talking about Grant William Blackman.
Grant will surely be missed by all and his strong family oriented legacy will continue to shine and uplift us all. Grant became ill and passed away on January 7, 2025.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories (1) daughter Brenda Davis, (1) son Lynn Blackman Sr. who preceded him in death, (1) daughter in law Mary Blackman, (2) grandson Lynn Blackman Jr., James Ford (4) granddaughters Linda, Myisha, Rachael, Natalie, (2)
brothers Robert Blackman, Eddie Blackman Sr. (2) sisters Bertha Blackman, Ruthie Williams, (2) sister in laws Johnnie Blackman, Alma Blackman all who preceded him in death. A host of great grand kids, cousins, nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.

I Have Done it All
You guys are here to celebrate my life,
Don’t cry, Don’t be sad,
I lived my life I gave it all I had,
96 years in this world,
Raised my son and my baby girl,
I have done it all,
One thing in life we all must leave,
If y’all leave like me it’s nothing but peace,
For all my years of wisdom and strength,
I want you all to smile and know I’m good,
I have done it all,
So don’t cry for me celebrate me,
Because I have traveled around this world and saw all I could see, I bet all of you wish you could live as long as me,
To my daughter I’m always gonna be with you your brother and I got you, I have done it all,
To all my friends and family near and far,
I loved you all when you want to talk to me
Just look to the stars,
So let’s hurry this up cause you know me sitting long doesn’t give me peace,
Pray, Rejoice and Say see ya later,
Because I’m in heaven checking out the new elevator.
Love Grant William Blackman
