Domingo “Poppy” Reyes, 83, passed away December 2nd, 2021 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Loma Linda, California, after fighting a short illness. Mr. Reyes was born on August 7th, 1938 in Gause, Texas to Valentin and Carmen Reyes who were both born in Mexico. Mr. Reyes' early life consisted of a military career where he first enlisted in the Marines and then enlisted into the Army. His years of service totaled around 20 years, retiring as Sergeant First Class. Through his Service, he got to travel to Germany, Hawaii and anywhere ordered in between. During this time he married the sweet and beautiful Anita Reyes with whom they had four children; Albert Reyes, Lorenzo (Crystal) Reyes, Debra (Efren) Reyes, and Rayna (Arturo) Hernandez. Mr. Reyes was a follower of the Catholic faith. He attended churches with his family from Immaculate Conception in Colton, California all the way to Basilica Of Our Lady of San Juan Del Valle in San Juan, Texas. He enjoyed watching television and tending to his home and yard. His later years he was better known as “Poppy” to 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Poppy loved providing for his family the best way he could including unconditional love and never ending life advice. Mr. Reyes’, Sergeant First Class Reyes’, Poppy‘s legacy will be carried on through his family. The Reyes family would love to send thanks to everyone for their love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. Mr. Domingo Reyes’ funeral services will be held Thursday, December 16th, 2021 at 10:00am to 12:00 pm at San Salvador Catholic Church, Colton. Followed by interment at 12:30 pm at Hermosa Gardens Cemetery, Colton.
