Daniel Alfonso Gonzalez, a beloved son, brother, and friend, was born on September 13, 2000, in Los Angeles, California. He passed away unexpectedly on January 9, 2025, at the tender age of 24. Daniel was known for his friendly personality and boisterous laugh, bringing joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Growing up in Los Angeles, Daniel graduated from Franklin High School and participated in activities such as Tennis and Folklórico. He eventually found fulfillment in his career as a security guard, where he enjoyed goofing off with his coworkers. Beyond his professional life, he was an avid video game enthusiast, excelling at video games such as Mario Kart, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros, and Mario Strikers. Anyone that knew Daniel knew his intense love of anime, Godzilla, and Transformers, exemplified by his wide figurine collection and memorabilia. Daniel also enjoyed traveling to visit his friends in Arizona and Texas and enjoyed making new connections virtually through VRChat. Among his assorted talents were his immense skill at axe-throwing and uncanny strength.
Daniel is survived by his loving family, including his father, Jose Inocente Gonzalez; his mother, Noemy Patricia Flores; and his brother, David Jose Gonzalez. Their bond was a source of immense pride and happiness for him, and they will forever cherish the memories of laughter and love they shared together.
A visitation will be held on February 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at East Olympic Funeral Home, located at 4556 E Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90022. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Daniel’s life and share their fondest memories.
A Mass honoring Daniel's life will take place on February 15, 2025, at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, starting at 10:00 AM, located at 2727 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90006. Following the Mass, a graveside service will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park at 12:00 PM, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA 90601, where Daniel will be laid to rest.
Though Daniel's time with us was far too short, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him. While a reserved individual, he was a kind soul that enjoyed making others laugh. He will be dearly missed yet remembered for his kindness and the joy he brought into our lives.
