Cecil Wallenford August, Jr. was born January 26, 1955 to Cecil
and Elvina Moore August in Belize City, Belize, Central America,
and spent his childhood years in Belize City, Belize. He attended
Wesley Infant and Primary School, and Junior Secondary School
#1 (now Edward P. York High School), where he pursued his
passion for cabinet making. After being one of the first students
enrolled to graduate, he worked for Cooperation of America Relief
Everywhere (CARE) distributing food stuffs to children. Cecil
enjoyed going on family vacations in Gales Point, Freetown Sibun,
and San Ignacio Cayo. He reveled in his adventures with his
brothers swimming across the lagoon to reach the plantation,
where he would pick mangoes, or lighting fires to roast green
plantains.
At the age of 19 years old, Cecil decided to leave Belize for the US
seeking a better opportunity for himself and his family in Belize.
Even though he was in the US he continued to maintain a family
relationship and supported his family in any way he could. He
would call and give advice to his nieces and nephews, sharing his
life experience so that they were aware and conscious of their life’s
decisions. Cecil was one of a kind especially the way he would
laugh with that crooked smile of his.
Cecil Wallenford August Jr. is predeceased by his Parents: Cecil
and Elvina August. Brothers: Esmond Usher, Chesterfield and
Hubert August. Sisters: Constance August Bowen Foster and
Marie August Westby. He is survived by his sisters Amanda
Flowers and Elsa August. Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and
extended family and friends.
He will be greatly missed. May he rest in eternal peace.
“Then in fellowship below in Jesus be so sweet. What sight of
rapture shall we find when round the throne we meet sleep on
brother God Loves you and so do we.” Charles Wesley (1707-
1788)
