Apolinar Lee Gomez

d. July 20, 2020

Apolinar "Lee" Gomez, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Bellflower, California on July 20, 2020. His wife and children were at his side.

Lee was born on June 11, 1934 in Redondo Beach, California, to Sabino Gomez and Carmen Murillo Gerardo. He grew up in Southern California where he met and married Eladia Morales on November 26, 1960. Lee had five sons, David, Joe, John, Hector, Anthony and two daughters, Rita and Irma. He was also blessed with 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Lee's pride and joy was his family. He enjoyed sharing stories about his children and grandchildren. Coming from a large family, he truly loved gatherings. He always supported his grand children by attending sports events, school celebrations and dance competitions. He was a fan of baseball and the Dodgers. However, one of his favorite pastimes was winning on the slot machines at local casinos! Lee was also very strong in his Catholic faith. He and Eladia spent many years volunteering and serving together at Our Lady of Rosary Church in Paramount. The love, strength and devotion in their marriage of 59 years is admired by many.

Lee is survived by his wife, his children, daughter-in-laws, son-in-law, grandchildren, and his sisters Rosa, Caroline and Mary.
