In loving memory of Abigay Sierra, a beacon of light and love, whose journey on this earth came to a peaceful end, on July 9, 2024. Abigay touched the lives of countless individuals with her unwavering faith and compassionate spirit. Born on February 10, 1936, in Mexico, Abigay Sierra was a true embodiment of kindness and grace.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Eduardo Sierra, sister, Maria Lidia Montesdeoca and her son, Jose Eduardo Sierra. She is survived by her son, Armando Sierra; daughters, Yolanda Granados and Dora A. Cantu; and her surviving brother, Jose Efrain Montesdeoca. Abigay leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Melissa Granados, Hilda Granados, Edith Cantu, Luis Cantu, Brittany Cantu, Robbie Sierra, Eddie Sierra, Ryan Gomez, Ashley Sierra, and Aaron Sierra. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren who will continue to honor her memory.
Her heart of gold shone through in every interaction, and her love for God was evident in her unbreakable faith. She carried herself with humility and gratitude, embodying a set of morals and values, that served as a guiding light for all who knew her. Abigay was a pure heart and soul, full of kindness and love for others. Her beautiful smile-one that could brighten even the darkest of days-was a testament to her caring and compassionate nature. Her presence radiated warmth and love. She was a devoted mother, the best grandmother in the world, and an inspiration, like no other. Abigay was a faithful friend and a rare gem loved by all.
A viewing will be held at McAllen Funeral Home on Thursday, July 11th, from 3 pm to 9 pm, and on Friday, July 12th, from 9 am to 2 pm. Funeral services will follow at Roselawn Cemetery and Mausoleum at 2:00 pm.
